All candidates (both companies and individuals), who have submitted documents for joining the association and passed the compliance review, must pay an entry fee of 120 euros before participating in an interview with the LAVA board. If the candidate is not accepted into the association, the application fee is not refunded.

F.A.Q.

A company/ organisation applying for a membership in the association submits a declaration signed by the company’s manager and a completed questionnaire. If, based on the provided data, the company passes the eligibility assessment and pays the joining fee, then a representative of the company is invited to participate in an interview with the board members. During the LAVA Board meeting following this interview, the Board members vote and make a decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of the member.

A person applying for a membership in the association submits a completed questionnaire. If, based on the provided data, the person passes the eligibility assessment and pays the joining fee, then he/ she is invited to participate in an interview with the Board members during the LAVA Board meeting. Following this interview, the Board members vote and make a decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of the member.

Requirements for members:

  • Impeccable reputation of the company/ organisation and manager;
  • Members must not engage in the trade of goods, services, or any other connections with non-democratic regimes or individuals (if the company belongs to a group of companies, this condition applies at the group level as well);
  • Must have prepared a sustainability report (true members) or commit to preparing it within a year from joining the association (associate members).

Requirements for members:

  • Has at least 2 years of professional work experience related to sustainability management in business or has a higher education in sustainable business, sustainable finance and other related fields;
  • Obliges to comply with his/ her rights and duties in the association defined in the LAVA statutes;
  • Obliges to actively contribute to the publicity of LAVA projects, events and initiatives;
  • Is ready to share experiences with other LAVA members in order to promote cooperation and foster a community of sustainability professionals.

Not necessarily, but the majority of members successfully join the association. The LAVA board evaluates the completed documents submitted by the members and makes a decision regarding the membership within 30 days from the date of receiving the application.

A company/ organisation or a person becomes a member after submitting all the necessary documents for joining to the LAVA Board, successfully passing the assessment, participating in an interview with the LAVA Board, receiving approval from the LAVA Board, and paying the entrance and annual membership fees.
